- Bedding and towels are offered with some of the deepest discounts now as part of the white sale strategy that many retailers adopt in January to increase sale. Find quality sheets and blankets all throughout the month.
- Toys, particularly clearance Christmas toys are another type of merchandise that goes on sale in the first month of the year along with some organization items and small appliances.

Also be on a lookout for computers and tablets but just know that it’s the older models that will sell cheaper now, so if you’re not interested in some high tech you’ll probably find something to suit your preferences this month.
