The gas or gasoline cost is a major expense for most drivers, and obviously not for those that drive an EV Car. On average, Canadians usually spend over 4.0% of their income on fuel, which is way more than the 3% that Americans spend. The reason behind this numbers are the fact that in the US gas prices are much lower than in Canada (view Canada gas prices).

You need to provide some information to calculate the cost of gas: the distance you will travel, or have travelled, the consumption of your car – number of litres per 100km, and the price of fuel per litre.

For example: If you travel with you car for 1,000 kilometres (if you know the distance in miles then convert miles to kilometers) during a trip or in a month, and the fuel consumption is 10 litres/100 km, and the current price of gas in Toronto is $1.50 per litre, then you need to make 2 calculations:
First: Calculate how many litres of gas you had consumed or will consume: 1000 km x 10 litres / 100 km = 100 litres
Then, calculate the gas cost for you: 100 litres x $1.50 = $150.00.
The calculator tool will help you estimate how much you spend on gas during a particular trip, in a month or year, and you could take control of your budget.
